Welcome to Wharfeside House, Kettlewell
right in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales

A sponsored walk in 1969 by the young people of Huddersfield raised money to enable the purchase of Wharfeside House. The facility has been enjoyed by our residents over the past 40 years and continues to offer the young people of Huddersfield an excellent opportunity to experience a wide range of activities suitable to the different age groups. The House is also available for  mid-week and weekend breaks by adult and family groups from further afield who are keen to enjoy the great countryside on the doorstep. We have groups of cyclists, dancers, bird watchers to name but a few and many return each year.

Wharfeside House is open to Groups, Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, Uniformed Organisations and other Clubs and Societies. Each party must provide its own adult leader who will be responsible for the overall supervision of the party and the catering/domestic arrangements. Advice and assistance is always available from the Warden when required.

Adult and family groups are welcome. Group bookings are for a minimum of 15 up to a maximum of 30 and the house is open all year round.  If you don't have 15 in your group please contact us anyway as we may be able to accommodate you.
